Topic: Addiction Treatment: Lessons from Brain Neurophysiology
⦁ Delineate these basic brain functions: Executive control, motivational goal attainment, inhibition of short-term goals and the process of procedural learning.
⦁ Describe the basic trauma-induced brain changes that make an individual susceptible to addiction diseases.
Be able to describe how these basic mechanisms are hijacked during the development of a substance use disorder.
⦁ Describe the four basic brain changes in these brain mechanisms that should be addressed for solid remission from a substance use disorder (SUD).
