Margaret O’Meara

MA, LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Governors State University. I work with individual adults (18+) focusing on presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, life changes, mood disorders, self-esteem/self-worth, grief and loss, stress management, and relationship issues. Modalities of treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Attachment Focused Therapy. I provide trauma-informed treatments including EMDR Therapy for PTSD and Complex PTSD.

I have a passion for connecting with others and helping people to grow and move beyond what holds them back from having a fulfilling and productive life. I incorporate mindfulness, gratitude, and self-compassion into my practices while utilizing a variety of evidence-based treatments. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and view therapy as a collaborative effort between the therapist and the individual.

As a therapist, it is my aim to help you identify obstacles, build on strengths and work toward goals while providing guidance and support. It is my intention to help you gain greater self-awareness and empowerment and develop the strength and courage to make positive changes for continued growth toward peace, acceptance, and a better quality of life while navigating through life’s inevitable challenges.
