She completed two internships. One with Youth Villages in Mississippi, working with children and families who deal with mental health issues. The second at The HART Center in Memphis, where she worked with adults who have dual diagnoses of mental health and substance abuse, many dealing with severe trauma and the justice system. She has also been trained and advocates for those with disabilities and their families.
Calleen specializes in working with those who have experienced trauma, as well as religious trauma, substance abuse, parents of children with special needs, and other mental health issues.
She uses a variety of strength and resiliency-based approaches while integrating knowledge from many different therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapies, while also bringing in mindfulness and somatic work.
She believes wellness includes our mind, body, and spirit. She addresses this by looking at the whole person. Your life, your story is important. Let’s work together to make it one you love.
