Topic: Right Brain Psychotherapy-Healing Attachment Wounds

Topic: Supporting our Frontlines: trauma Treatment for First Responder Wellness

Clinicians will obtain knowledge about common diagnoses and needs among first responders.

Introduce a variety of mental health assessments available for first responders in relation to trauma treatment.

Provide clinicians with research-based information on adequately assessing first responders’ mental wellness needs in trauma treatment.

Topic: Legal Remedies in Illinois When Traumatic Events Occur
Attendees will learn about the different types of Orders of Protection and Restraining Orders and how they can impact clients, as well as the legal definitions and expectations set forth by Illinois’ Court Ordered Counseling statute. The importance of record keeping when dealing with these Orders will also be also emphasized.
Attendees will learn about the obligations involved in sharing medical records, which includes mental health records, in relation to protective Orders. Additionally, we will discuss how these Orders can be critical in some cases yet sometimes used as “abusive tools” and the potential implications of such misuse, particularly with child-related matters.
Providers should gain the necessary knowledge to navigate the high-level complexities of protective Orders in order to assist in safeguarding and supporting their clients who may be dealing with legally traumatic situations.
