What do I need to get started?

Is my trainer and EMDRIA approved Trainer?

What are your COVID-19 protocols for in-person trainings?
We follow CDC, state, and city guidelines as well as the protocols of the training venue. Currently, the CDC guidelines recommend to know the COVID-19 Community Level where you live.
COVID-19 Community Levels are a tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data.
As your training date approaches, please monitor the following symptoms:
-Runny Nose/Nasal congestion
-Sore Throat
-Loss of taste or smell
-Difficulty breathing
-Cough
-Unusual fatigue
-Fever above 100.0F
-Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
If you suspect you have COVID-19, please contact our registration specialist, Sarah Visvardis at sarahv.hec@gmail.com to reschedule, and we will transfer your registration to another training or issue a refund.
How do I know if I qualify for the non-profit fee?
You qualify if you are a licensed mental health professional or under clinical supervision to practice individual psychotherapy and fit within one of the following categories:
-Community mental health agency
-VA settings
-Active-duty military
-Veterans (thank you for your service!)
-2nd year Master’s level or above interns in a behavioral health science
What is included in your EMDR Training course?
-Training materials (included in your registration fee)
-20 hours of didactic (lecture) – in-class learning (in-person or virtual)
-20 hours of experiential practice – in-class learning (in-person or virtual)
-10 hours of group consultation – outside the classroom
-Cost of your 40 American Psychological Association (APA) credit fees.
Do you provide Continuing Education Credit for your course?
Hope Enrichment Center is approved by NBCC to provide continuing education (ACEP #7068). Course meets the qualifications for 40 hours of continuing education credits for LPC’s as required by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Contact your licensing board to determine if they recognize NBCC CEU’s prior to attending. Please contact us to inquire about APA or NASW credits if needed.
Attendance at the entire program is required for CE Credit. No partial Credit will be awarded
Do you provide lunch at the trainings?
We do not provide lunch at our training. However, we do provide continental breakfast, snacks, and bottled water, tea, and coffee.
Do you provide hotel/lodging group rates?
We do not provide hotel/lodging group rates. However, we can make recommendations for area lodging around our various Hope Enrichment Center locations.
Is there a dress code for the trainings?
We recommend wearing comfortable, business casual clothing for the training with layers to accommodate your preferred amount of warmth.
What is the daily schedule and itenerary?
Our trainings begin promptly at 8:30am and end at 5:00pm each day. We break for lunch at 12pm – 1pm each day and provide breaks throughout.
Do you offer a refresher course?
Yes, have a EMDR Refresher Course that we offer on even years to provide folks with an opportunity to sharpen their basic training skills. We also offer several ongoing advanced training courses throughout the year.
Do I start consultation at the EMDR training?
No. Your consultation meetings will be held in between AND after the second half of the basic training. These meetings are held via Zoom and are typically held on Monday evenings at 5pm or Tuesday mornings at 8am.
Will I be certified after completing the EMDR training course?
No. After you have completed this training, you will be considered an EMDR Trained Clinician. Certification in EMDR is another level of expertise that can be obtained after you have completed all of the requirements for the basic training.
Do I have to be certified to practice EMDR?
No, you do not have to be certified to practice EMDR Therapy.
