Next Step Program
A program designed for those desiring a higher level of support and direction than can be obtained by outpatient mental health counseling alone. The focus of this group program is to obtain and fruitfully utilize interpersonal relationship and affect regulation skills to inspire a greater degree of overall creative empowerment and success.
The purpose of the Next Step program is to bridge any gaps in knowledge, experience and support essential for overall success in achieving one's personal goals and aspirations. It is designed for people that would benefit from more than an hour weekly mental health counseling session and those stepping down from intensive outpatient treatment or residential treatment programming.
If this covered by my insurance carrier? The Hope Enrichment Center accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO of Mississippi and Tennessee as well as Cigna insurance. Most insurance policies will cover group counseling. Participants are encouraged to contact their independent insurance carriers to ensure coverage. The Hope Enrichment Center will provide a package rate for participants that do not possess third party insurance coverage or who wish to pay privately for services. The rate will be based on the entire four (4) week group program as well as any individual counseling sessions requested by the participant.
Do I have to attend all of the groups? Participants interested in engaging with the Next Step program are certainly encouraged to attend all of the groups offered as it will ensure the highest level of therapeutic gain. However, if a group member misses more than two (2) groups within the four (4) week program, they will be dismissed from their initial cohort and encouraged to begin another four (4) week program in the future. This allows for a higher level of group cohesion and increased delegation of energy and expertise to be dispensed to group members that are dedicated to the therapeutic process.
- Monday 5:30pm – 6:45pm – Educational Group (required)
- Tuesday 5:30pm – 6:45pm – Peer Support Group
- Thursday 5:30pm – 6:45pm – Experiential Group
Educational groups will provide information on topics essential for accomplishing treatment goals like understanding one's attachment style and its impact on self-efficacy and self-esteem, discovering ways to harness one's nervous system in the journey towards health, and identifying healthy options for meeting one's basic psychological needs of safety, purpose, and belonging.
Experiential groups will consist of art, movement, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practices. This allows participants to gain insights and practice therapeutic skill sets from a different perspective.
Peer Support Group
Peer perspective groups are formed via cohort graduates of the Next Step program. The group discussions will be inspired by the topics discussed over the course of the Next Step program and will allow participants to obtain fruitful and organic feedback from other group participants. This allows for participants to act upon the skills and information provided by the program itself.
