Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor
I believe we can only lead others as far as we’ve gone. My practice is informed by my education and training, as well as my personal experience pursuing healing and wholeness. I am trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and take an actively anti-racist stance in my practice. I work primarily with adults who’ve experienced sexual or religious trauma. I utilize methods such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, attachment-focused therapy, and skills informed by CBT and DBT.
The decision to go to therapy is often driven by a desire to heal, grow, and become whole. Trauma can show up in our lives unexpectedly, shaking our view of ourselves and the world around us. It can also show up subtly and with such normalcy that we can hardly imagine life being any other way. Sometimes we experience flashbacks, nightmares, or dissociation; and sometimes we develop depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. My clients are ready to examine how trauma has shaped their lives and move toward a healthier, more adaptive and more meaningful way of living, believing, and relating.
