This is the complete EMDR Basic Training approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), formerly known as Level I and Level II, including an additional 10 hours on consultation. Participants will learn the EMDR psychotherapy approach, the basic eight-phase EMDR protocol, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, and how to incorporate EMDR into your practice. This course will consist of didactic presentations, live demonstrations, supervised practicum, and case consultations. Participants must attend the full training and attend five 2-hour consultation groups to receive a certificate of completion in EMDR Basic Training. Five 2-hour consultation groups will be provided by the trainer, included in the cost of the training. If other dates or times are needed to make up for the consultation hours, attendees can either schedule separate consultation with the trainer (or any EMDRIA approved Consultant with prior approval of the trainer) at the attendees cost. Approval of partial programs will not be granted.

Qualifications for Attendance:
Licensed Mental Health Professionals
Qualifying Medical Doctors must have a medical specialty in Psychiatry and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.
Qualifying Nurses must have a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) with a specialization in psychiatric nursing and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.
Qualifying Mental Health Clinicians must have a Master's or Doctoral degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline considered appropriate by EMDRIA and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.
Mental Health Clinicians who have a Master's degree in one of the following fields must submit their graduate transcript to EMDRIA to determine their eligibility: Art Therapy, Christian/Pastoral Counseling, Drug/Alcohol Counseling, and Music Therapy. These clinicians will also need to submit a copy of their license to practice in their state or province in order to determine their eligibility.
Interns & Students
Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline considered appropriate by EMDRIA. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician.
Graduate students who are enrolled in a Master's program in one of the following fields must submit their graduate course transcript to EMDRIA to determine their eligibility: Art Therapy, Christian/Pastoral Counseling, Drug/Alcohol Counseling, and Music Therapy.
Students who would like to take the basic training will need to submit the following documentation to determine eligibility for registering for an EMDRIA Approved Basic EMDR Training: graduate transcript, practicum or internship hours, curriculum vita, and a letter from their current supervisor which includes the supervisor's degree information, licensure information and license number.
About the Trainer: DaLene Forester Thacker, PhD, LMFT, LPCC, is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer. She has a successful private practice in Redding, California where she supervises pre-licensed clinicians and specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and PTSD. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, DaLene is a CAMFT Certified Supervisor, an approved CEU provider with the California BBS, California Board of RN’s, EMDRIA, and CPA for Psychologists. NBCC: AEI (and DaLene Forester Thacker, PhD) is approved by NBCC to provide continuing education (ACEP #6657). EMDR Basic Training consists of 40 clock hours of continuing education.
RNs: DaLene Forester Thacker, PhD, is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing provider # CEP 14409 for 40 contact hours. Many other states recognize CA RN CE's. Contact your licensing board to determine if they recognize CA RN CE's prior to attending.
Psychologists: AEI is approved by the California Psychological Association to provide continuing professional education for psychologists. CPA Credit Provider # ADV010. AEI maintains sole responsibility for this program. This course meets the qualifications for 40 continuing education units for psychologists.
Attendance at the entire program is required for CE Credit. No partial Credit will be awarded.

Registrants canceling up to 72 hours before the workshop will receive a tuition refund less a $50.00 administrative fee. No refund for less than 72 hours cancellation. Effective 12/31/07 EMDR training will no longer be split into Level I and Level II. There will only be the Complete Basic Training (Level I and II combined with 10 hours of consultation included).
