EMDR Bootcamp

This is a 2-day EMDR Skills refresher course specifically designed for EMDR trained clinicians who have not had the opportunity to practice EMDR. This course will build your confidence and competence in using EMDR. Register fee is only $395.00 per participant!

EMDR Boot Camp objectives:

  • Fully describe the AIP model
  • Develop a treatment plan based on the AIP model
  • Describe the EMDR 8-phase, 3-prong process
  • Build confidence and competence in performing the 8-phase model

*Attendees must submit a copy of attendance certificate from an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training

About the trainer:

Carrie Ann Carr, MA, LPC-MHSP is EMDRIA Certified clinician, consultant, and EMDR Therapy trainer.  She is the founder and executive director of the Hope Enrichment Center.  She is also a national speaker for PESI, Inc. and has presented on the topic of EMDR, mindfulness, and trauma around the country.  Carrie has presented at the EMDRIA Annual conference and is also the EMDRIA Regional Coordinator for the North Mississippi/Memphis, TN region.  She has also recently published a book on the topic of EMDR & Mindfulness (due out in Fall 2017).  Her clinical specialty is anxiety disorders, PTSD, and leadership development/performance enhancement for executives and athletes.

Continuing Education:

CA LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCCs – this course meets the qualifications for 12 hours of CE credits as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. AEI is approved by the CA BBS, CE provider #PCE 3287.

EMDRIA CEs – This course has been approved by EMDRIA for 12 EMDRIA ECs #05007-09.

Psychologists – this course meets qualifications for 12 hours of CE credits as required by the California Board of Psychology. AEI is approved by the California Psychological Association to provide continuing professional education for psychologists. AEI maintains full responsibility for this program and its contents. EMDR in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

Course Objectives

  • Learn the 3 most commonly held Negative Cognitions the EMDR therapist needs to know when treating Eating Disordered individuals and individuals with disordered eating.
  • How to integrate EMDR into a comprehensive treatment plan utilizing the EMDR 8- phase model and 3-pronged protocol, for individuals with Eating Disorders and disordered eating.
  • Recognize client readiness for implementing EMDR successfully
  • Discover the art of Developing Negative and Positive Cognitions with Eating Disordered patients
  • Explore Closure Techniques for Incomplete Sessions
    (Attendees must submit a copy of attendance certificate from an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training)

Dr. DaLene Forester, PhD, LMFT, LPCC is EMDRIA Certified clinician, consultant, and EMDR Therapy trainer. She is an active member of the EMDR International Association having served on the Standards and Training committee, is an active Regional Coordinator, currently serves on the EMDRIA Board of Directors, and is a member of the National Organization of EMDR Trainers (NOET). She has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Redding, California since 1993 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2013. She obtained her Masters in Psychology from Chico State University and her PhD in Psychology from California Southern University. DaLene maintains a full time private practice with an emphasis in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and a special passion for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has worked as the Clinical Director of a non-profit counseling center and founded the Advanced Education Institute where she provides clinical trainings to Mental Health professionals in EMDR, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Supervision, Clinical Treatment of Eating Disorders and much more. Dr. Forester, has presented papers at AAMFT, Western Psychological Association (WPA) and has two chapters published in EMDR Solutions II, R Shaprio (ed.), W.W. Norton & Company, 2009.
